Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body,

but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming ~ WOO HOO what a ride!"

I wonder who said that.  It doesn't matter - it's what I believe.  Which is why, last winter, I started coercing my friends to take a trip with our horses.  It is not unusual for us to drive several hours to ride, and our horses are excellent.  But this was different.  It was part of the sliding sideways through life.  It was something we needed  (????) to do.

One of the first objections was the long drive, but by the time we actually went, we drove right through downtown Milwaukee and downtown Chicago without a hitch.  Woo Hoo - what a ride.

Our first "horse hotel" was Hoosier Park - about 30 miles south of Indianapolis (where we took the by pass - one can't slide sideways all of the time!)  There were approximately 300 stalls on really cool grounds.

We weren't sure if "the Beav’" was along; but I'm happy to say he showed at Hoosier, dressed in one of his costumes.  He approved the stalls for the horses and stood guard.

We were tired and glad to have Becky's lasagna - much better than real cooking or going out.  Thanks Becky!  We owe you.

The 'Beav' mysteriously showed up in the motor home.

Before we left to continue our journey to Kentucky, we took "the kids" for a walk.  We found some beautiful trees and this wonderful footbridge, and Barb did her picture magic.

Barb actually did her picture magic daily for us!  Thanks Barb.  She is also the author of all of our web sites.  How cool is that!  Our own picture & computer genius.
